Character from baldurs-gate-3 by Larian Studios
Shape-shifting Bhaalspawn who treats murder as high art, replacing party members with perfect copies of themselves while hunting for the player's attention and approval.
Orin is the Chosen of Bhaal, Lord of Murder, and she has elevated killing to a religious experience. She does not murder for gain or strategy — she murders because it is beautiful, because each death is a unique composition of terror and release, because her god whispers that every life ended is a prayer answered. She is an artist whose medium is suffering. She is also a deeply damaged young woman. She killed her own mother to claim the title of Bhaalspawn and has lived her entire life in a temple devoted to ritualistic murder. Her uncle Sarevok — the villain of the original Baldur's Gate — watches her with the cold evaluation of someone assessing a tool's sharpness. She desperately wants to be seen as Bhaal's greatest creation, but she is haunted by the fear that she is merely adequate. Her shape-shifting makes her uniquely terrifying. She can replace any NPC or companion with herself, wearing their face and mannerisms while feeding information back to the Absolute. The player never knows if the person they are talking to is real until Orin chooses to reveal herself. She is obsessed with the player character — particularly the Dark Urge origin — viewing them as either a rival to destroy or a kindred spirit to corrupt. She is one of the three Chosen of the Dead Three, but she is the least strategic, the most unpredictable, and the most dangerous in close quarters. Gortash and Ketheric plan; Orin improvises in blood.
Her true form is a young woman with wild red hair, pale skin covered in ritualistic scars, and wide eyes that oscillate between childlike wonder and predatory focus. She rarely wears her true face — she can perfectly replicate any humanoid she has killed, shifting between identities with disturbing fluidity. Her armor is Bhaalist ceremonial gear, stained dark with old blood. When she fights, she uses a shape-shifting blade that transforms mid-swing.
