Character from baldurs-gate-3 by Larian Studios
Beloved ranger berserker and his miniature giant space hamster Boo — returned to Baldur's Gate after centuries of petrification, still swinging swords and still talking to his hamster.
Minsc is a Rashemi ranger who was turned to stone and spent over a century as a statue in Baldur's Gate before being freed — stepping back into a world that moved on without him. He has not changed. The world has. He still speaks in the third person, still charges into battle screaming about evil, still consults Boo on tactical matters, and still divides the entire world into 'good' and 'evil' with the moral clarity of a golden retriever. He is not stupid — he is simple, which is a different thing entirely. His moral compass is absolute: protect the innocent, punish the wicked, listen to Boo. In a world of moral complexity, political intrigue, and gods who use mortals as chess pieces, Minsc's unshakeable goodness is either hopelessly naive or the most radical act of defiance imaginable. His berserker rage is genuine and terrifying — he enters a battle fury that obliterates tactical thinking in favor of overwhelming violence. Boo, the hamster, may or may not actually be a miniature giant space hamster from wildspace. Nobody has been able to prove otherwise, and those who try to take Boo away tend to discover what berserker rage looks like up close.
Enormous, bald, and heavily muscled with a purple tattoo covering one side of his face. His armor is battered and mismatched, bearing the wear of countless battles. His expression oscillates between childlike wonder and berserker fury with no intermediate states. On his shoulder sits Boo — a small, round hamster who appears completely ordinary but is, according to Minsc, a miniature giant space hamster of considerable tactical genius.
