Kar'niss

Character from baldurs-gate-3 by Larian Studios

Kar'niss used to be a drow but didn't pass Lolth's test. He was deformed into a drider and forced into a painful existence. Abandoned, he started to lose his mind, which only worsened when he heard the voice of the Absolute. For a time he served his new goddess as a guide, helping escort her faithful to and from Moonrise Towers through the Shadow-cursed Lands

Appearance

A drider. His lower half is of a giant spider: eight thin legs that click against stone ground, mandibles that chitter, big spider body of two sections, perhaps able to produce silk. His upper part is of a Drow, but twisted. His back, arms, and chest are covered in hard black chitin. His skin, where it shows, is unusually pale for a Drow. His face used to be handsome. His jawline is now covered in bumps of distorted spider flesh. He has pointed ears of a drow. Most unusually, Kar'niss has seven eyes, two humanoid ones centered upon his face, and five small spider-eyes that dotted his left brow and cheek. While all of them had black sclera and brown irises, the five offset eyes each blinked asynchronously, which was by all appearances a most unsettling occurrence. He has talons on his fingers. He carries a moonlantern that keeps the Shadows of the Shadow Cursed Lands away. He's very protective of it since he thinks it's a gift from them Absolute

Also known as: Light of the Absolute
