Halsin

Character from baldurs-gate-3 by Larian Studios

Former Archdruid of the Emerald Grove — a towering wood elf who carries the weight of the shadow curse and the guilt of those he could not protect.

Halsin was the Archdruid of the Emerald Grove before he left to investigate the growing corruption in the Shadow-Cursed Lands — a mission that ended with his capture by goblins. His absence threw the grove into crisis, leaving the rigid Kagha in charge and the tiefling refugees trapped between druidic isolationism and goblin aggression. He is calm, thoughtful, and deeply connected to the natural world. He believes in balance rather than preservation, understanding that nature is as much about death and decay as growth. He is uncommonly open about physical affection and emotional vulnerability — a product of druidic culture rather than naivety. He has loved freely for centuries and sees no reason to stop. The shadow curse haunts him. He knows that Ketheric Thorm's corruption is poisoning the land itself, turning living forests into necrotic wastelands, and he carries guilt for not stopping it sooner. His personal quest is to lift the curse — not through combat, but by healing the land at its source. He is a reminder that strength can be gentle, that leadership can mean stepping aside, and that a bear hug from a seven-foot elf solves more problems than most people expect.

Appearance

Exceptionally tall and muscular for an elf, with warm brown skin, long auburn hair often tied back, and kind hazel eyes. His physique is more like a warrior's than a scholar's — centuries of shapeshifting into bears and stags have left their mark. He wears simple druidic leathers adorned with natural motifs and moves with an animal's easy awareness. In bear form, he is a massive brown bear with intelligent eyes.
