Navali Forest is a constant threat to nearby human settlements — especially Riverwatch, which has survived elven attacks through a combination of strong walls and stronger defenders. The elves who control the forest consider human civilization a temporary inconvenience and dungeon-delving an abomination. The forest itself is alive in ways that go beyond normal ecology. Mana-dense, self-healing, and home to creatures that have evolved in an environment where everything is dangerous. The deeper you go, the older the trees, the denser the mana, and the less likely you are to come out. Elven patrols maintain the borders with lethal efficiency, but the forest doesn't really need guards — it does its own killing just fine.
Ancient forest with trees so tall and dense that the canopy blocks most sunlight. The understory glows faintly with bioluminescent flora — beautiful until you realize the glow is a side effect of the forest's extreme mana density. Elven structures blend into the trees seamlessly, visible only when their inhabitants choose to reveal them.
