Hallowfort

Location from Azarinth Healer by Rhaegar

A hidden city in the northern wastes built on top of The Descent — where Dark Ones, dwarves, and humans coexist because the alternative is dying alone in the cold.

Hallowfort smells like forge smoke, alchemical reagents from the Hunter's Den, and the clean, sharp cold of the northern wastes. It's a place that shouldn't work — humans, Dark Ones, a dwarven engineer, a fox-faced alchemist, and a thousand-year-old necromancer king all sharing a settlement because each of them has something the others need. The Abyss is the social heart: Haiden tends bar for a clientele that ranges from level-100 adventurers to ancient shadowy beings who drink through osmosis. Goliath's forge produces weapons and armor that draw customers from across the north. Catelyn's Hunter's Den supplies the potions and compounds that keep Descent expeditions alive. The Meadow's arrival transformed Hallowfort from a survivalist outpost into something with actual strategic significance. Having a being above level 2000 as your guardian changes the political calculus for every faction within a thousand miles. The council governs pragmatically — Catelyn, Goliath, Elana, Maro, and others making decisions by consensus because there's no one powerful enough to overrule the rest.

Appearance

A settlement carved into northern rock, fortified with dwarven engineering and defended by beings that predate most human civilizations. The architecture is functional and hybrid — human buildings with dwarven structural supports and spaces that accommodate Dark Ones' non-physical forms. The Abyss tavern sits at the center, its entrance also serving as the gateway to The Descent below.
