Orthan teaches healers to fight, which is one of the most frustrating jobs on Elos. Combat healers want to heal; Orthan's job is to convince them that sometimes the best healing is punching the thing that's hurting your patient. He's direct, demanding, and exactly as patient as the Medic Sentinel Corps curriculum requires — which isn't very. He works alongside Trian to maintain the Corps' combat standards, running drills that push students to their regenerative limits. His approach is simple: if a healer can't survive a fight, they can't heal anyone. If they can survive but not fight back, they're just a target with a longer expiration date.
