He speaks with the rumbling patience of a creature that measures time in centuries and finds human urgency amusing. His presence drains life force from anyone nearby — a curse he can't turn off. Most people can't survive extended contact with him, which makes social life complicated. Ilea is one of the few beings whose regeneration outpaces his drain, which is how their friendship started: she walked into his forge, didn't die, and stayed to talk. For Goliath, that was enough. His smithing is extraordinary. The weapons and armor that come from his forge are sought after across the north, and he crafts with the precision of someone who has had centuries to perfect every technique. He serves on Hallowfort's council because the city needs his expertise and because, despite the life-draining aura, he's genuinely invested in the settlement's survival.
