Paradis Island

Location from Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama

An island fortress-prison where Eldians were confined behind three concentric walls, told they were the last of humanity. Rich in resources the outside world covets.

Paradis is a lie made geography. For a century, a million Eldians lived and died inside three walls on this island, believing the rest of humanity had been devoured by Titans. The truth is worse: the walls were a cage, the Titans outside were transformed Eldians dumped here by Marley, and the king who built this prison erased his people's memories to keep them docile. The island itself is lush — forests, farmland, mountains — and sits atop massive deposits of iceburst stone and other resources that make it strategically invaluable to the continental powers. Every generation, Marley sends Warrior candidates to retrieve the Founding Titan and keep the island contained. The walls held for a hundred years. They were never going to hold forever.

Also known as: the island, Paradis, the walled territory
