The Founding Titan could alter Eldian memories, which means the historical record is compromised at the genetic level. What is certain: the empire fractured in a civil war called the Great Titan War, the 145th King Fritz fled to Paradis with the Founding Titan and erected the walls, and Marley seized seven of the remaining Titans to build its own empire on Eldia's bones.
