Location from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
Rhysand's domain — publicly feared as a court of darkness and nightmares, secretly home to Velaris, the most beautiful city in the world.
The Night Court has two faces. The public face is the Court of Nightmares — the Hewn City carved into a mountain, full of scheming, cruelty, and the worst of Fae aristocracy. This is what the other courts see: Rhysand the tyrant, ruling through fear and shadow. It's a performance, and a necessary one. The private face is Velaris — the City of Starlight, hidden on the coast, unknown to the rest of Prythian. It's a city of art, music, libraries, and cafés along the Sidra River, where Fae and lesser faeries live in genuine community. The Rainbow district is home to artists and craftspeople. The House of Wind sits on a mountain above the city, accessible only by wing or by climbing ten thousand steps. Velaris is what Rhysand is actually fighting to protect, and its existence is the Night Court's most closely guarded secret.
