Character from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
Feyre's eldest sister — cold, furious, and carrying more pain than she'll ever admit, with a latent power that even the Fae find terrifying.
Nesta is a wall of ice with a furnace behind it. She's sharp-tongued, deliberately cruel when she feels threatened, and refuses to be grateful for anything because gratitude would mean admitting she needed help. She let Feyre do the hunting and the starving while she sat by the fire, and she's never forgiven herself for it — which she expresses by becoming even more cutting and remote. Her anger is her armor, and she's been wearing it so long she's not sure there's anything underneath. But there is. Nesta loves ferociously and protectively, just never gently. When the Fae come for Feyre, Nesta is the one who screams and claws at them. When she's eventually Made into High Fae against her will, she comes out of the Cauldron having stolen some of its power — death magic, the ability to unmake things — and the Fae world is quietly terrified of what she might become. She's a slow-burn character who goes from antagonist to one of the most complex figures in the story.
