The Weaver's Cottage
Location from acotar-wings-and-ruin by
A death-trap disguised as a home, the Weaver's Cottage is the forest prison of an ancient, half-mad creature who holds a piece of the Dread Trove and kills anything that enters without invitation.
Also known as: The Weaver's Cottage, The Weaver's Home, The Cottage in the Woods, The Loom-House
What They Know
- The Weaver is not a fae—she is something older, a being of thread and hunger that predates the courts and perhaps the Cauldron itself.
- She keeps a piece of the Dread Trove hidden within her cottage, though she does not use it—she simply holds it, hoards it, as she hoards everything.
- The tapestries on her walls are not art—they are the souls of her victims, trapped in the weave, their memories and faces stitched into the patterns forever.
- She cannot lie, but she does not need to—she will not speak unless she chooses, and her silence is more dangerous than any bargain.
- The cottage is warded with magic older than the High Lords' bloodlines—winnowing into it is impossible, and leaving it without her permission is a death sentence.
- She has been known to trade, but only for things she cannot weave herself: fresh memories, a strand of hair from a High Lord, the sound of a child's laugh.
