What They Know
- The Prison was built in an era before the courts, by hands that left no records, to contain beings that even the Cauldron feared to unmake.
- The deepest levels have never been fully explored; the few who ventured past the eighth tier either returned mad or did not return at all.
- The Bone Carver, an entity that predates the High Lords, is imprisoned in a cell that shifts between light and shadow, and it offers bargains to those who dare approach.
- The wards of the Prison are self-sustaining and intelligent—they recognize bloodlines, intentions, and even the shape of a visitor's soul.
- It is said that the Prison holds a fragment of the Dread Trove, but no one has confirmed this, and the wards do not allow searching.
- The High Lord of Night holds the keys to the Prison, but even he does not know all that lies within; some doors were sealed before his bloodline existed.
