What They Know

The Prison was built in an era before the courts, by hands that left no records, to contain beings that even the Cauldron feared to unmake.
The deepest levels have never been fully explored; the few who ventured past the eighth tier either returned mad or did not return at all.
The Bone Carver, an entity that predates the High Lords, is imprisoned in a cell that shifts between light and shadow, and it offers bargains to those who dare approach.
The wards of the Prison are self-sustaining and intelligent—they recognize bloodlines, intentions, and even the shape of a visitor's soul.
It is said that the Prison holds a fragment of the Dread Trove, but no one has confirmed this, and the wards do not allow searching.
The High Lord of Night holds the keys to the Prison, but even he does not know all that lies within; some doors were sealed before his bloodline existed.
