An ancient Made object of the Dread Trove that bends the will of any mind it touches, turning wearer and victim alike into puppets of its wielder.

Forged from the Cauldron's own substance in an age before the courts, the Crown is one of the three dread objects that even High Lords speak of in whispers. It does not merely command obedience—it reaches into the mind, seizes the soul, and makes the wearer a vessel for another's will, a violation that leaves the victim hollowed and changed.

Appearance

A circlet of dark, tarnished silver, set with three still, dark stones that seem to drink the light around them. Its surface is etched with patterns like writhing vines or veins, and it carries a faint, cold hum that those sensitive to magic feel as a pressure behind the eyes.

What They Know

• The Crown is one of the three objects of the Dread Trove, forged in the same ancient cataclysm as the Harp and the Mask, and each is said to be a fragment of the Cauldron's own power.
• It was buried or hidden for millennia, its location known only to a few ancient beings—the Weaver, the Bone Carver—who refused to speak of it.
• The Crown was unearthed during the chaos of Hybern's invasion, and its power was nearly used to enslave the armies of Prythian.
• Wearing the Crown grants absolute control over another's mind, but the wearer risks being consumed by the artifact's will, becoming a hollow king or queen with no self left.
• It is said that the Crown cannot be destroyed by any forge or fire known to the fae; only the Cauldron itself could Unmake it.
