What They Know

• The manor was built atop an old faerie mound, and its foundations are woven with the same magic that makes the land bloom—or wither, as it does now.
• Every member of the court wears a mask at all times, a condition of the curse that binds them, and the masks cannot be removed by any force but the breaking of the curse itself.
• The manor's gardens are enchanted to respond to Tamlin's mood: when he is angry, thorns sprout from the roses; when he despairs, the flowers wilt.
• The great hall contains a throne of woven branches and living wood, which grows and shifts with the seasons, though it has been dormant since the curse took hold.
• There is a hidden passage behind the library's fireplace that leads to a small, forgotten study where Tamlin keeps his most private correspondence and the only mirror in the manor that shows true reflections.
