Ramiel
Location from acotar-thorns-and-roses by
The sacred mountain of the Illyrian people, a brutal proving ground where warriors undergo the Blood Rite, and a place older than the courts themselves.
Also known as: The Mother's Peak, The Black Spear, The Trial's End
What They Know
- The Blood Rite is held once a year, and only those who survive the climb and the battles on the slopes are considered true warriors.
- Ramiel is said to be one of the few places in Prythian where the Mother's voice can still be heard, if you know how to listen.
- The mountain is forbidden to all but Illyrians during the Rite; outsiders who trespass are killed on sight.
- The peak of Ramiel is capped with a flat stone altar where the victors are crowned, and where many have been sacrificed to the old powers.
- It is believed that the mountain itself judges the worth of those who climb, and that the weak are turned away by the wind and the cold.
- The Illyrian war-camps at the base of Ramiel are the only permanent settlements near the mountain, and they are as harsh as the peak itself.
