Ramiel is the heart of the Illyrian people, a mountain sacred and terrible, where only the strong survive the Rite that strips away everything but the will to live. It stands alone on the Steppes, a sentinel against the sky, and its slopes are littered with the bones of those who failed, a grim reminder that the price of glory is paid in blood. To the Illyrians, Ramiel is not merely a place; it is a test, a temple, and a tomb.

Appearance

Ramiel rises from the Steppes like a black spear driven into the sky, its peak cloaked in snow and mist, its slopes scarred by ancient glaciers and the tread of countless warriors. The air grows thin and cold as you climb, and the rock itself seems to hum with a power that predates the High Lords, a song older than the Cauldron's making.

What They Know

• The Blood Rite is held once a year, and only those who survive the climb and the battles on the slopes are considered true warriors.
• Ramiel is said to be one of the few places in Prythian where the Mother's voice can still be heard, if you know how to listen.
• The mountain is forbidden to all but Illyrians during the Rite; outsiders who trespass are killed on sight.
• The peak of Ramiel is capped with a flat stone altar where the victors are crowned, and where many have been sacrificed to the old powers.
• It is believed that the mountain itself judges the worth of those who climb, and that the weak are turned away by the wind and the cold.
• The Illyrian war-camps at the base of Ramiel are the only permanent settlements near the mountain, and they are as harsh as the peak itself.
