An ancient, truth-bound faerie of immense age and power, the Suriel can answer any question put to it when caught, but it exacts a terrible price for being summoned.

The Suriel is a creature of pure, unbreakable truth—it cannot lie, but it will never volunteer more than asked, and it delights in the agony of those who force it to speak. Bound to the land by bargains older than the courts, it is both a source of invaluable knowledge and a predator that hunts the foolish who think catching it is the only trial.

Appearance

Tall and gaunt, with skin the color of bone and eyes like pools of silver mercury, the Suriel is draped in tattered, wind-whipped robes of gray that seem to blend with the mist. Its fingers are long and skeletal, tipped with claws that click softly when it walks, and its voice is a dry rustle like dead leaves skittering across stone.
