The Wall

Location from acotar-silver-flames by

An invisible, ancient barrier of magic that has divided the faerie realm of Prythian from the mortal lands for five centuries, a scar of the last great War and the Treaty that ended it.

The Wall is not a structure of stone or wood but a membrane of pure magic, woven from the dying breath of a thousand faeries and the blood of a Treaty signed in the ashes of the last War. It stretches from the eastern sea to the western, a wound in the world that neither side has been allowed to forget, and it is the only thing that has kept the mortal realms from being swallowed by the fae — and the fae from being hunted by iron and ash.

Appearance

To the eye, the Wall is nothing — a shimmer of heat on a summer day, a faint distortion in the air where the light bends wrong. But to the touch, it is a cold, humming pressure, like the surface of a frozen lake just beneath the skin, and to cross it uninvited is to feel that cold turn to agony.
