What They Know
- The Prison was built by the first High Lords after the War with Hybern, using magic that has since been lost, to hold beings that could not be destroyed.
- The wards on the Prison are keyed to the blood of the Night Court's High Lord—only he can open the iron door, and only he can walk the deepest levels without being driven mad.
- Among the Prison's inmates are the Weaver, the Bone Carver, and the Stryga—ancient entities that were old when the courts were young, and that bargain with visitors for their freedom.
- The Prison is said to be alive in some way—it breathes, it listens, and it remembers every scream that has echoed through its halls.
- There is a legend that the Prison's deepest cell holds something that was not imprisoned but hidden—a piece of the Dread Trove, or perhaps the key to unmaking it.
- The lesser fae of the nearby villages avoid the mountain entirely, claiming that on certain nights the stone itself whispers names.
