What They Know
- The Bone Carver is one of the oldest beings in Prythian, older than the High Lords, older than the Wall, possibly older than the Cauldron itself.
- The carvings on the bones are not decoration—they are records of things that have happened and things that will happen, written in a language that predates the fae.
- The Carver can see the threads of fate and death, and will answer questions truthfully—but only if the asker brings something of equal value, usually a memory or a truth they would rather keep hidden.
- The cell is warded by ancient magic that prevents the Carver from leaving, but also prevents anyone from forcing information from him.
- The bones in the cell are not all from the dead—some are from the living, carved while their owners still walked the world above, and those carvings are the most dangerous to look upon.
- The Carver has been known to offer bargains that seem harmless but always carry a cost, for he is a creature of balance and does nothing for free.
