Cassian

Character from acotar-silver-flames by

The Illyrian general known as the Lord of Bloodshed, a warrior forged in war-camp brutality and tempered by loyalty, who finds himself unmoored by the one female who will not yield—Nesta Archeron.

General of the Night Court's armies and Rhysand's brother-in-arms, Cassian is the blunt instrument the Inner Circle sends when words fail—but beneath the brute lies a male who reads histories by candlelight, who trains priestesses into warriors, and who has spent five centuries carrying everyone else's burdens while pretending his own are light. He is drawn to Nesta Archeron like a moth to a forge-fire, and he is terrified of what that means.

Appearance

Tall even by Illyrian standards, with shoulders broad enough to block a doorway and wings that cast a shadow over half a room. His hair is dark and cropped short, his face all hard planes and a jaw that could cut glass, usually scruffed with a day's stubble. Scars map his skin—a slash across his ribs, a puckered circle on his shoulder from an ash arrow, the Illyrian tattoos winding up his arms—and his eyes are hazel, warm when he laughs, flat as iron when he fights.

Also known as: Cass, Lord of Bloodshed, General, Illyrian brute, the Illyrian general, brother, the winged menace
