A deathly still cottage deep in a nameless wood, home to the Weaver — an ancient, powerful being who guards a piece of the Dread Trove and consumes any who approach without the right bargain or the right blood.
The Weaver's Cottage is a place of deliberate isolation and lethal stillness, hidden deep in a woodland that no map marks and few travelers survive to describe. It is the domain of a being older than the courts, a woman who spins thread from the lives she takes and weaves it into a tapestry that records the dying moments of her victims. Within its walls lies one of the Dread Trove — the Crown, or perhaps the Mask, or something older — and to enter without the Weaver's permission is to become part of her collection.
A squat, crumbling cottage of gray stone and moss-choked thatch, half-swallowed by a forest of gnarled, leafless trees. No smoke rises from its crooked chimney, no light glows in its dark windows, and the air around it hangs thick and silent — no birdsong, no rustle of leaves, only the oppressive weight of something ancient and patient waiting inside. The ground for fifty paces in every direction is bare earth, as if life itself refuses to grow near the threshold.
