Appearance

The city rises from a crescent bay of impossible blue, its buildings carved from white coral and pale limestone that catch the sun like a million scattered diamonds. Canals of saltwater lace every district, lined with flowering vines and marble docks where sleek boats ferry merchants and nobles, and the air tastes of brine, citrus, and jasmine.
