Tarquin

Character from acotar-mist-and-fury by

High Lord of the Summer Court, young and idealistic, who rules with an open hand and a heart that still believes in honor.

Tarquin is the youngest High Lord in Prythian, having inherited the Summer throne after his cousin and predecessor was killed Under the Mountain. He rules with a radical transparency, keeping his court’s doors open to all and governing by council rather than whim—a stark contrast to the old ways of secrecy and fear. He is generous, trusting, and fiercely protective of his people, but his youth and idealism make him dangerously naive about the games other High Lords play.

Appearance

Tarquin is tall and lean, with sun-bronzed skin that glows like polished amber and hair the color of pale sea-foam, cropped short and windswept. His eyes are a startling, clear turquoise—the shade of the shallows off Adriata—and when he smiles, it is with the easy, unguarded warmth of a man who has not yet learned to hide his heart. He dresses in flowing linens and silks the color of the deep sea, often barefoot, and moves with the fluid grace of a current.

Also known as: Tarquin, High Lord of Summer, the Young High Lord, Lord of Adriata
