Refuge is where Hye Su trained her five Named apprentices: Archer (Indrani), Hunter, Beastmaster, Concocter, and Silver Huntress. It exists as a dwarven protectorate — the dwarves leave it alone because Ranger asked, and nobody argues with Ranger. The village is small and deliberately unremarkable. Ranger doesn't train students in a grand academy — she trains them in the field, against real threats, with real consequences. Refuge is just where they sleep.
A small, isolated village — unassuming enough that you'd walk past it without a second look. Which is the point: the most dangerous training facility on Calernia is disguised as a hamlet.
