Sve Noc

Character from A Practical Guide to Evil by ErraticErrata

The twin goddesses of the Drow — Andronike the sage and Komena the soldier, who bargained with the Gods Below for power and ascended when Catherine fed them Winter, manifesting as two sardonic black crows on her shoulders.

Andronike was a Twilight Sage, Komena was a soldier. Together they bargained with the Gods Below for Night — a power that let the drow survive underground but created a murderously competitive society where the Mighty stole power by killing each other. Catherine gave them her Winter power, which completed their apotheosis from powerful beings into true goddesses. In return, they named her First Under the Night and granted her access to Night's powers — dark miracles, gate creation, and the ability to empower drow warriors. They travel with Catherine as two crows, offering advice that ranges from genuinely helpful to deliberately annoying. Their personalities are distinct: Andronike is the thinker, Komena is the fighter. Both are ancient, both are gods, and both find Catherine endlessly entertaining.

Appearance

Manifest as two large black crow-like birds that perch on Catherine's shoulders. Their divine forms are drow women — Andronike scholarly and measured, Komena martial and direct. As crows, they provide a running commentary of advice, insult, and dark humor.
