Eudokia

Character from A Practical Guide to Evil by ErraticErrata

The Scribe — so forgettable that her Aspect erases her from memory, a spymaster and logistics genius devoted utterly to Amadeus, the invisible woman who kept the Black Knight's empire running.

Eudokia is the Scribe, the unofficial sixth Calamity. Her Aspects — Fade (makes people forget her) and Inscribe (her words carry supernatural weight, can inscribe eyes and ears onto vermin, compel individuals to obey) — make her the perfect spymaster. She arrived too late to formally count as a Calamity, but she's been Amadeus's logistical backbone for decades. She is utterly devoted to Amadeus. Not in love — or maybe in love, the series deliberately leaves it ambiguous — but devoted the way a compass is devoted to north. She dislikes Malicia (for claiming too much of Amadeus's attention) and Ranger (same reason). Her loyalty is absolute and slightly frightening.

Appearance

Diminutive, plain-faced — her only notable feature is ink-stained fingers. Her Aspect Fade makes people forget her appearance. She is, by design, the most unremarkable person in any room.
