Now it is a silent ruin where masked ghosts wander between collapsed houses and Fire Spirits perform their eternal dances. The village serves as a key location in multiple acts. The orange Fire Spirits here require four paintings to be burned before they lower their fire wall. The Badge Seller appears in the middle of the village. Cherry bomb puzzles using Subcon Dwellers unlock collectibles. The cemetery contains hidden items accessible with the Hookshot Badge. What makes the village effective is its contrast with the lively communities in other chapters. Mafia Town has brawling goons. Dead Bird Studio has arguing directors. Subcon Village has ghosts who cannot even speak. The silence tells the whole story.
