Nyakuza Metro is the second DLC chapter and the game's most ambitious location. Accessed through the spaceship's storage room after collecting 20 Time Pieces, it drops Hat Kid into an underground world entirely controlled by cat criminals under the Empress's rule. The Metro is structured as a free-roam area like Alpine Skyline, with color-coded stations serving as distinct zones. Each station has its own Time Pieces, collectibles, and aesthetic personality. Manholes accessed with the Ice Hat lead to hidden sub-areas. The main station contains the Empress's shop where Hat Kid is paid for Time Pieces and directed to the next objective. The name is a portmanteau of 'nya' (Japanese cat sound) and 'yakuza' (Japanese organized crime). The entire chapter builds toward Rush Hour -- a climactic escape sequence where the Empress turns every cat in the Metro hostile and Hat Kid must flee through an escape tunnel to the surface. The tonal shift from bustling urban exploration to desperate chase is one of the game's best moments. A subway map features made-up cat-themed station names, and a poster advertises the Conductor's latest movie in a reference to John Wick 2.
