Location from A Hat In Time by Gears for Breakfast
A breathtaking chain of floating mountain peaks connected by ziplines and hookshot points -- the game's only true open-world area, where goats roam and Nomads guide you to the summits.
Alpine Skyline is Chapter 4 and it breaks the mold of every chapter before it. Instead of linear acts, it is a free-roam area where Hat Kid can tackle four mountain peaks in any order from a central hub. Each peak is essentially its own mini-level: The Birdhouse (platforming through a giant avian structure), The Lava Cake (volcanic hazard traversal), The Windmill (wind-based puzzles), and The Twilight Bell (mystical summit climb). The Hookshot Badge is soft-required -- you can visit without it, but your trip will be very short. The entire chapter is designed around grappling, swinging, and ziplining between peaks, making it the most movement-focused area in the game. The Badge Seller has four simultaneous locations here, more than any other chapter. The lore is gentle compared to Subcon Forest's tragedy. The Storybook tells of a goat who followed a constellation to find Alpine Skyline and became one with the sky at the highest summit. Nomads colonized the area alongside goats and ask Hat Kid to blow the summit horns because the altitude makes them too breathless. The chapter finale, The Illness Has Spread, breaks the serene tone when a sickness infects the goats and corrupts the landscape.
A vast alpine landscape of towering mountain islands floating in a brilliant sky. Connected by ziplines, rope bridges, and hookshot points. Four distinct peaks rise from a central hub: each with unique architecture ranging from a giant birdhouse to a volcanic lava cake. Goat Village sits at the hub with red-roofed houses and horn beacons. The Twilight Bell peak has a mystical blue-purple atmosphere. Wind-carved rock formations, waterfalls, and sweeping cloud vistas create a sense of enormous vertical scale.
