Cooking Cat is the unsung hero of Mafia Town. She lives in the rafters of Mafia Headquarters, directly above the kitchen where the Mafia of Cooks prepare their legendarily terrible food. Her self-appointed job is to intercept their cooking and replace it with her own before anyone gets sick. She does this not for recognition or reward, but because she is a professional and professionals do not let people eat bad food. After Hat Kid meets her, she moves onto the spaceship and sets up in the kitchen, offering information about Relics and asking important questions like whether Hat Kid is a 'meat or veggie type of person.' She appears to have a television cooking show that is referenced by multiple characters across different chapters. In the finale, she appears riding on a goat's head to help tell Mustache Girl to get lost. She is one of the characters who clings to Hat Kid's spaceship at the end, not wanting her to leave. For a minor character, she has remarkable range -- from secret saboteur to TV personality to loyal friend.
